The Maintenance Custodian is a physically demanding position. Under the supervision of the Executive Director, this position involves a variety of cleaning and custodial work at Cheney Hall and performs basic building maintenance assignments. The ability to work 20 hours a week, including nights and weekends as needed, is required.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Starting Pay: $16.50 per hour
Please Note: This position does not include vacation pay, sick leave, or health and welfare benefits.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Custodial: Cleaning of all rooms and outside areas of Cheney Hall, including dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning restrooms, disposing of waste, and other activities as directed by the Executive Director.
Setup: Preparing and tearing down rooms for varied users as directed by the Executive Director. This task involves lifting tables, chairs, lecterns, and other equipment and setting up the room as directed. One of the major tasks of this position is setting up and taking down theater chairs for each Little Theatre production.
Maintenance: Performing regular fire and physical safety checks as required. Replacing light bulbs. Helping to maintain building security, which includes turning out lights, locking doors, and windows. Performing basic maintenance work, including non-complex electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and mechanical repairs. Operating and performing basic maintenance on power cleaning equipment. Operating hand and power tools. Transporting and delivering materials and equipment between various locations. Performing deliveries as necessary.
Supplies: Keeping an inventory of supplies needed and bringing requests to the attention of the Executive Director on a timely basis.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, with flexibility for additional hours as needed.
Availability to work nights and weekends as required.
Typical Schedule:
Tuesday: 6:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Wednesday: 6:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Friday: 6:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Saturday: 6:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Sundays: (As needed: 6:00 AM – 8:00 AM)
Physical ability to frequently reach, stand, walk, use hands, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Knowledge of proper cleaning procedures, chemicals, products, and equipment, including the ability to read and understand labels and instructions.
Familiarity with building security practices and basic building maintenance methods, tools, and equipment.
Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision and be self-motivated.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with stripping and waxing floors.
Knowledge and experience in simple plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall repair, and painting.

Since 1960, Manchester's Little Theatre has been producing community theater. Throughout the years, LTM's volunteers have produced more than 650 quality performances that have been well-received and well-applauded. With the help of the Town of Manchester, the Little Theatre restored Cheney Hall in the 1980s. Following an extensive, award-winning restoration, the Little Theatre of Manchester moved into the state's oldest operating theater in 1991.
Today, LTM's programs feature five main-stage theatrical productions, numerous concerts, special events, and various other cultural, business, civic, and private events. The Little Theatre is proud to serve a growing audience of approximately 20,000 annually.

The Little Theatre of Manchester House Manager oversees the management of all patron/public areas on-site while ensuring excellent customer service, community building, and the safety of patrons.
The House Manager gives our patrons their first impression of our theatre. They assist us in maintaining our reputation as a relaxed, friendly, and professional venue that offers the highest quality live theatrical experience.

BENEFITS
Starting at $15.69 per hour in pay
Shifts are generally Friday & Saturday Evenings and Sundays.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ensure that Cheney Hall's theatre, lobby, restrooms, and Silk Room are show-ready before patron arrival
Prepare doors lists, bar, and concessions before patron arrival
Manage volunteer ushers to ensure patrons a warm welcome, a hospitable atmosphere, and organized crowd control
Assures that enough programs are available and directs and assists volunteers with program stuffing
Coordinate with Stage Management to ensure a seamless turnover of the house, lobby, and stage areas during house loading, show start, intermission, and audience exit
Assist volunteers with ticketing procedures and house opening
Manage and execute box office operations using a computerized ticketing system, Arts People, in a fast-paced environment, with competing priorities
Supervise the sale of concessions and beverages
Resolve patron complaints and duplicate seating issues in a professional manner
Deal with accident situations, providing first aid if necessary, and gathering as much information as possible
Ensure compliance with established safety guidelines, emergency preparedness protocols, and incident reporting requirements
Assist with the security of Cheney Hall (e.g., prohibit patrons from standing in the aisle or entering unauthorized areas, etc.)
Close the public areas after a performance by ensuring no patrons are in the seating area, restrooms, or other areas
Additional related tasks as required
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications
Prior experience handling cash
Experience in guest service, food service, and/or house management
Ability to safely lift and carry boxes weighing up to 20 pounds for a brief period
Ability to stand for up to 1.5 hours while bending and reaching to sell tickets and manage concessions and bars
Ability to climb stairs and assist elderly patrons with stowing mobility devices
Commitment to a show/event schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to learn new software applications
Ideal Qualifications
CPR and First Aid Certification
ADA knowledge and experience assisting disabled or elderly patrons in a performance venue or customer service environment
Experience in providing proactive guest service recovery and resolving patron complaints
