Dear Friend,

I'm reaching out to you today with an urgent matter that underscores the vital importance of your ongoing support for our beloved theatre and the arts in our community.

You may have heard that the White House recently proposed eliminating the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) in its fiscal year 2026 budget. This potential dismantling of the NEA would have far-reaching consequences, impacting arts organizations and programs nationwide, including The Little Theatre of Manchester (LTM).

The NEA plays a crucial role in supporting arts initiatives in every state, reaching organizations that might not have access to federal funding -- including ours. Their federal-state partnership ensures the arts can thrive in every corner of our country, not just major cities. The potential loss of the NEA could mean closing valuable arts programs, negatively affecting local businesses, and weakening the very fabric of our community.

Here at LTM, we understand firsthand the power of the arts to connect, inspire, and entertain. Annual donations from our patrons are the lifeblood that allows us to keep bringing those quality productions and concerts to our stage, providing crucial educational opportunities, and fostering this vibrant culture in Manchester.

Given the proposed NEA cuts, support from our patrons this year is more critical than ever. Frankly, it worries me about significantly reducing the quality and number of our events, fewer programs for our community, and even struggling to maintain our cherished Cheney Hall.

Your annual donation, no matter the size, directly supports the following:

  • Exceptional entertainment: Bringing talented performers, volunteers, and others together to create those memorable experiences we all cherish.

  • Community programs: Inspiring artists and art lovers through workshops and opportunities that spark creativity.

  • Maintaining our historic Cheney Hall: Preserving this iconic venue as the cornerstone of arts and culture in our Manchester community.

  • Accessibility to the arts: Ensuring that theatre remains a vital and inclusive part of life for everyone in Manchester and beyond, regardless of their background.

Now is the time to champion the arts at every level. Your local support directly strengthens our ability to continue our mission here at home, no matter what is happening in Washington. Your role – through your support – in ensuring our survival and continued vibrancy is crucial.

Please consider making an annual donation of $10 to The Little Theatre of Manchester today. Your generosity ensures that the curtain will continue to rise, enriching our community for years.

You can easily donate online at www.cheneyhall.org/give-today or by mailing a check to 177 Hartford Rd, Manchester, CT 06040.

Thank you for being such a vital part of The Little Theatre of Manchester family. Your past support has been instrumental in everything we've achieved, and we are deeply grateful for your passion for the arts and your unwavering commitment to our community. Your continued support truly makes all the difference.

Sincerely,

Dwayne Harris Signature
